Clare You

Mrs. You currently retains a long-standing relationship with the University of California, Berkeley, as Lecturer in the Department of East Asian Language and Culture’s Korean Language Program since stepping down as director. For her work in advancing Korean culture throughout her career, she was awarded the Korean National Silver Medal of Culture in 2003. Further, having served as Chair of the Center for Korean Studies at the University of California, she possesses a wealth of knowledge and experience to be Chairperson of this corporation.

GC Jung

Dr. Jung possesses a crucial amalgam of talents and experiences: he holds PhD degrees in architecture as well as Buddhist art; he is a well-published scholar and teacher of Korean visual culture and East Asian art; he has experience with fundraising for a brand new academic program; and he also has experience working with a provincial Korean government agency for appraising and designating cultural properties.

Jae Yong Chang

Dr. Chang is the Librarian for Korean Collection at the University of California’s C.V. Starr East Asian Library in Berkeley. Having spent a career developing and maintaining Korean language collections at libraries, he adjoins a large network professors, government officials, company executives, and individuals who have donated cultural artifacts, texts, and funds. He is therefore, intimately aware of all the financial and practical aspects of managing cultural assets in this capacity. He stands in this unique position to connect the institute to potential donors, continue relationships with them, and strategically utilize contributions according to the institute’s stated purpose donor’s wishes.

Yoonsik Yang

Dr. Yang is an experienced architectural historian who has researched the wooden structure system of East Asian architecture and the relevant conservation issue for more than three decades. He takes charge of supervising a branch office of SKCI in Korea, and administers the implementation of the SKCI’s exhibition proposals.

 Albert F. Chung

Mr. Chung works closely with Dr. Chang at the University of California’s C.V. Starr East Asian Library in public services. His work and experience in coaching academic writing for international doctoral students in America has supplied him with the skills to contribute to the Institute’s communications.

Julie Baek

Since 2008, Mrs. Baek is a prolific administrator of academic affairs between Korea and the United States. Currently, she is Administrative Assistant at the Berkeley International Office, University of California, helping international students with immigration related business. Holding a degree in Business Administration and Master Certification in Microsoft Office she is a great asset as our steward of administration.
